Easy Grouping of AdWords Keywords

I’m back making PPC and AdWords campaigns as I’ve started helping my friends over at UK Computing to build their business. Obviously, my first job is to get the Internet working for them.

So i’ve blown the dust off my old PPC & AdWords toolbox and started building some campaigns. After a few hours of thorough keyword research using the AdWords Keywords Tool and Wordtracker I’d generated loads of great keyword lists. These lists then need to be broken down into highly targeted adgroups to benefit from a great quality score and high relevancy. However, doing this by hand can be very time consuming, so here’s a couple of tools to help:

AdWords Editor

AdWords Editor Keyword GrouperYou’re probably already using the great AdWords Editor to build and manage your campaigns. If not i suggest you go download it now.

AdWords editor contains a great keyword grouper tool. You can find it in the Tools menu. Stick your keyword lists in and it’ll start to break them down for you. You’ll need to tidy up afterwards but it’s a great start.

Wordstream Keyword Grouper

Wordstream GrouperA great free web based Keyword Grouper tool. Simply copy and paste your keyword list in and it will automatically place them into nice tight groups.

If you don’t sign-up it is quite limited and it can be tricky to get the keywords out. However if you sign-up for free it comes with an e-mail and filter function. Worth a look for sure.

I hope you find these two tools useful. Remember tight adgroups with only a handful of highly relevant keywords is the best way to improve the performance of your Google AdWords Campaign. These adgroups then need to match a highly relevant landing page.

I’ll be expanding on these ideas in future posts..
