I got a Wii, then it broke. Cannot Read Disc error !
I managed to get a Wii on Launch day in the end (probably the reason I haven’t posted). It’s a great console and the controller works brilliantly. Unfortunately after a late night Wii session the next day it refused to load any games, just comes up with a “cannot read disc” error.
I’ve tried to contact Nintendo customer support but without success, just a constant queue with a message announcing - “your call will be answered in 15 seconds” - which I feel is a little optimistic having waited on the phone over 30 minutes without an answer.
I’ll try again on Monday. I hope they can replace or repair quickly as I was hoping it could provide some good family entertainment on Christmas Day!

Hi there
We’ve had a Wii for the same time and it’s just stopped working with same error message as yourself. Did you get any response from Nintendo and/or do you think it could be virus related (ie did you have it linked up to internet?)
Thanks
Andy
poor alex but you got a new 1 ay
=)
Hi Andy,
I don’t think it had anything to do with the Internet…just a hardware problem. Nintendo we’re cool and sorted out a replacement. I had to send mine back and at that time I didn’t have an SD card to back up :(. All my virtual console stuff was transferred tho.
Good luck!
