Example Landing Pages

As i’ve mentioned before bespoke landing page can really improve conversion.

Everything that the visitor needs should be on the page so..

  • Headline that matches Keyword / Ad Text
  • Encouraging, Friendly copy, again related to the search they carried out.
  • Some quotes/testimonials from clients
  • An easy and clear form offering something in return for the info
  • Your phone number should they wish to call.
  • Why you’re the best company to buy from.
  • Ideally you should then use Google AdWords Website Optimiser to try many different variations to find the best combinations. Its certainly worth doing and a a real insight into which copy and images work best in converting your visitors.

Google Says “Don’t Bother with Phrase and Exact Matching”

Last Friday I was over at Google talking about AdWords etc - I even got a t-shirt –

    Me in a Google T-Shirt !

    But anyway..

We got talking about different keyword match types, Phrase “” and Exact [] as we always add all type to our campaigns. Google informed us that the best way to get maximum volume of traffic is to just use loose keywords with no brackets or quote marks and then use negatives to improve relevancy and improve CTR.

But how do you find out all the negative keywords ?

With the Search Query Performance Report within AdWords of course. With this report you can see the exact phrases that your visitors have entered into Google. This information is extremely powerful as you can quickly identify terms that aren’t relevant to your site and quickly eliminate them, improving CTR and Conversion Rate.

Give it a try on your next campaign…

    What is a Widget ??

Anyone seen this fella on the tube or somewhere ??

Widget Likes To Work - UPS Advert on Tube

    Its advertising UPS’s new Widget.

    But what’s a Widget???

I’ve heard a number of key people in the industry define a widget and they all have slightly different ideas of what widgets are..

My take is that a Widget is a part of a website, or application that can “Torn off”, like those small strips you find on some advertising posters, and accessed in all kinds of places like websites, blogs, desktops and mobile phones to name but a few…

The UPS Widget is a downloadable app that enables you to manage you shipping account straight from your desktop without the need to login into the UPS website.

Another example is the new Amazon Widget i’ve added to my recommended reading, Tools for Success page. This new Widget is part of their affiliate programme and allows you to easily comment and refer visitors to products.

Whatever Widgets are doesn’t really matter as they are sure to be a useful technology both for user and marketer.
