Technorati - The Blogosphere Launchpad
Having browsed around technorati a few times I’ve decided to claim my blogs to see what benefits it could offer. For those of you who haven’t come across the site before its a really good way to navigate around the ever growing “blogosphere”. Its a search engine for blog and in a similar way to del.icio.us and other Social Bookmarking sites it allows users to “tag” blogs which they find.
It’s easy enough to claim your blogs and get the Technorati spiders to come and visit. A few second to complete a registration form and post some code to your blog is all it takes. Once you have an account you get some really cool information about your blogs. Technorati tells you how many other blogs link to your and your rank (which I guess is based on the links). It certainly looks like a great way to get more traffic..
In order to help Technorati index your posts correctly is recommended to add tags to the bottom of each post. I’ve found a need Technorati tagging tool. Its a simple javascript bookmarklet that generates the required code for you to copy and paste in your blog. You can find it and a full guide at Lorelle on WordPress
I’ll keep you updated on Technorati and how it helps my blogs.
